The Film

Possum Kingdom Lake was once a popular summer destination for many and attracted people from all over.

That was until 1978 when a government research facility located on one of the lake’s islands, which unbeknownst to the town, was creating hybrid human/animal soldier prototypes for the U.S. Military, experienced a horrific accident that killed almost everyone at the site.

The facility was immediately shut down and quarantined along with the adjacent islands.

Over the years, stories have emerged about evil things that lurk in and around Possum Kingdom Lake and locals have reported seeing large creatures that have pale skin and black eyes which they have nicknamed “Possums”.

A band of career criminals decide to pull off one last (big) heist at a bank in a small rural town in Texas, which holds a lot of money from the local oil field economy.

After holding up the bank, the crew heads west to the small lake town of Possum Kingdom.

The leader of the crew wants to use the myths and legends and the town’s fear and superstition to their advantage by hiding out on one of the deserted government islands, until things cool down.

The only problem is that something evil did happen there and still may be happening and they are laying low at ground zero.
